Dive Komodo was founded by one of the true pioneers of diving in Komodo, Mark Heighes. Mark started diving in Komodo, and throughout Indonesia, in 1981 and commenced permanent operations with a liveaboard in Komodo in 1996. The day diving center was added to the operations in 2004.
In our time here, we have had the pleasure and honor of entertaining thousands of guests, and possibly hundreds of thousands of dives for them. We welcome all from beginners to advanced divers looking for a wonderful diving experience.
Dive Komodo is actively involved in the conservation efforts in Komodo National Park, contributing towards the protection, promotion, management and development of Komodo. We have managed the installation of moorings throughout the Park, organized Annual Clean Up days in Labuan Bajo and on the parks beaches, with hundred of local school kids, donated to other worthwhile projects, and work actively with the park management to help better manage the park.
We have fair employment policies and have trained many local staff up to Divemaster and Captain qualifications. Dive Komodo is a privately owned Indonesian company. With 3 foreign and 17 local Staff.

LIVEABOARD
A dive liveaboard or safari is a great way to explore the Komodo National Park in style and comfort at a price everyone can afford.
Our liveaboard Tatawa (meaning laugh) was custom built as a dive boat for operating dive liveaboard trips in the Komodo National Park. We will take you to the best dive sites in Komodo, and our guides will ensure that your experience is one to be fondly remembered!
To help ensure that you have the best diving experience we have a couple of important features. First we have a maximum of 8 guests – on a big boat! This means space and comfort on the boat and small dive groups in water (which really helps with the big fish encounters).
We send best guides in Komodo with a ratio of 4 divers per guide. So not only can well manage people with different experience levels, their knowledge of the different dives sites and options is excellent. This is backed managements commitment is to giving you the best trip possible. Each time we embark the boat is equipped for and our guides have flexibility to make their own itinerary, anywhere within the Komodo National Park for your trip. It just depends on their judgement as to when and where the best diving is. Between dives you will be well-fed with a range of Asian and Western dishes.
Feel free to explore deserted beaches, snorkel, catch the sunset or just spend your time leafing through our Fish ID library onboard. Trips range from 2 nights to 5 nights, or even longer. Customized itineraries and special programs are available for groups or on request.
